Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spin-off movie of the much loved Harry Potter series, marks the beginning of a new era for Harry Potter stories. Written by J.K Rowling herself, Fantastic Beasts could also be the start of Rowling’s screenwriting career.

The title of the movie references a text book required by first year students at Hogwarts, and the film itself is about the man who wrote it, Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl, Les Misérables) who seems to be the next up and coming English actor.

Fantastic Beasts is centred around Newt’s travels to the United States for an important wizards and witches meeting, which is interrupted when magical creatures escape from his briefcase.

The trailer definitely emulates the feeling of a Harry Potter movie, however it will appeal to a wider audience and die hard Harry Potter fans.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released on the 18th November.
